Allie Rose is TWO!
The night of July 19th, her birthday eve, I was out all night frantically searching last minute (I'd been in denial that this day was really happening, Allie officially not a baby) for the most perfect, absolutely heartfelt, meaningful gift. I felt defeated and uninspired walking into the house with a few too many things. Then, while showing Chad my random loot, I realized everything I'd chosen started with a B! And perfect it should be B, second letter of the alphabet, for Allie who is turning 2, and who only asked for birthday cake! for a present, and birthday cake! birthday cake! from morning until the candles were lit on the big day.
We went back to one of our favorite family spots, Wheeler Farm, for a relaxed, no fuss celebration. My brother Greg and his family joined us. I'm so happy to have them here for these times.
Photo shoot of the birthday girl:
And later, the birthday cake photo shoot:
Had to be ducky cake for my baby girl who loves her ducks!
You see?
Ducky love.
Allie holds all of her babies in the crook of her elbow,
just like this.
Such a little mama.
Then there was Sadie duck love...
Hee hee!
The real ducks in the background were a happy accident!
Sadie made a goose friend.
Then, a parade of geese!
Then PRESENTS! My favorite.
A bubble blower and a beautiful blouse from the Armes. Can you even believe it? Double B's! They didn't know about my accidental B theme, either!
A bath baby.
Big red ball and a bunny.
Bingo game.
And the Baby Born pull-along baby car!
...and a book called Princess Baby.
My Sweet Rose
My sweet rose
As the two of us grow
I want you to know that nothing's quite as bad
As it seems when you're so sad
So remember my rose, remember my rose
My sweet rose
I'd like to say
I'd like to say no one always gets their way
And no one always thinks the same
My rose, remember my rose
When the seasons change
And the sky turns grey
When the leaves turn brown
I'll be around
My sweet rose
As the two of us change
I want you to know that nothing stays the same
But you and I, we will remain
My rose, remember my rose
My sweet rose I want to be,
I want to be the one to hold you tight
Have faith in me I'll be alright
My rose, remember my rose
I want you to know that nothing stays the same
But you and I, we will remain
My rose, remember my rose
-Matt Costa
My sweet rose,
I know your daddy feels the exact same way. This is our Rosie song.
So, the highchair made its way to the basement, crib is long gone, I don't remember the last time I used the stroller, and you can say No, I'm not a baby! when I tell you it's nap time. I guess it's time to say bye bye to Baby Rose. Ouch. Sigh.
But happily, what a lady has replaced the baby! You are absolutely delightful, pure LOVE & JOY, and positively perfect!
Happy Birthday Allie Cakes!

I'm telling you -that was the sweetest reading ever! And Allie is beaming and so pretty. Deann, you made a picture perfect day even more perfect. The cake, the ducks, the beautiful posie rosie photos and a happy day with family. Wish we could be there...and get used to the sighs, ouches, and heartaches...they never go away. Savor these moments, they are fleeting. I miss you all. Love mom
P.S. I'm putting you on the Hot Tamale Train for theme birthdays!!!!
She is looking so big lately....
Those rubber ducky pictures with hare are adorable.
what a cute birthday party dee! I love the cake! I love how allie carries the duckies in her arm like that! You notice all of those little things that some wouldn't even think to see. I love it! Allie your getting so big girlie! I love you. I think that Sadie looks just like Maison! SO similar! Wow!
P.s.s. I agree but Deann on the Hot Tamale train! WHOA HOO!
How sweet! Happy Birthday rosie! SHe is so adorable..there is a picture of you when you were her age and it is her clone! It's hard to see your babies grow up! Hannah is going to be 3 I can't believe it and Elisabeth is almost half a year old!
The ducky cake was too cute! I love it and Allie looked so so sweet! Her little song is perfect too. She is still a baby! Grace still seems like a baby to me. Maybe because she doesn't talk much. Allie wants to be big!!
Oh, I still can't get over how much Sadie looks like Kim in that picture!
Happy Birthday, Allie!! I loved the party and everything about her special day-- good job, Dee!! I can't wait to meet all your little kiddos! I think I am going to Idaho- August 7th or 8th and the kids and I might be staying a week (but I'm not sure about that yet?). If we can't get together then in Rexburg, though, we will probably be going to Utah sometime?
She is absolutley precious! Super sweet. Just like her mommy!
Deann, looks like a fun party. I LOVE the Rubber Ducky Cake, what a cute idea. They grow so fats dont thet! And she is wearing such a beautiful dress.
Thanks for putting me on the hot tamale train guys! Thanks! Seriously, thanks for all the comments guys! I can't take credit for the cake. Idea was straight off birthdaycakes.com or something like that.
Jennifer -so funny you think she looks just like me. Chad's family all saw her and they were like, SHE'S SOOO CHAD! I guess she really looks like both of us!
I was going to tell you I thought it was funny your family thought Allie looks like you. I always thought she looks like Chad, but I haven't seen either of your baby pictures.
