Just Loads of Good Things

We are getting so excited for tomorrow!!! This is what I'm dreaming up for the perfect Thanksgiving Day!

Wake up and watch the 82nd annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, while we eat these pumpkin waffles!

Then we'll decorate the house and get our prettiest fall clothes on while we wait for Greg, Sarah, and the kids. Today when Chad gets home we're going for a drive to find pine cones and leaves for decorating.

While we wait for dinner, scheduled to be done at 3:00, the kids will do an American Indian art project and decorate their dessert. We will go outside and take some family portraits.

Before we eat, we'll have a toast with sparkling cider to give thanks for all of our blessings! Then we'll ENJOY our turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, corn casserole, Sarah's homemade rolls and sweet potatoes, and cranberry salad. Still feel like I'm missing something.

After this, the kids will recite poems and sing songs of thanksgiving. I found some cute ideas here!

Then the kids will wind down and we'll all watch Charlie Brown while we work up our appetites for dessert and then round 2.

And maybe Chad can squeeze in some football. :)

What will be on your table when the dinner bell chimes?
Please share your holiday traditions!

Wishing everyone just loads of good things on Thanksgiving Day!

Deann, where does this come from? Gee, you get me every time. Such pretty words. Okay, traditions. Well, first of all the turkey. Dad likes it cooked breast down...I like it basted and breast side up. Hmmm....yeah, football....that's where I can find dad when the turkey needs carving. Definitely pumpkin pie and wow, it was really good. My own homemade pastry is yummy. Martinelli's was on the table for a toast, which we forgot to do. However, we did go around the table and mention the numerous things we are each grateful for. That always humbles us and brings the spirit of love to the meal. And we were fortunate enough to get everyone on one long extended table for the meal. Dad, me, Mick, Kim, Jason, Jackie, Lindsey, Justin, cousin Jonathan, Jennifer, Merek, Mackenzie, Miah, Maison, Emma, Julia, Grace, Laney, Hannah, Elisabeth. Whew! I wish we ALL could have been together. Happy Thanksgiving...now get out the tree!
