The Nixon family cabin.
Thank you, thank you Rob & Erin, Grandpa Bob and Grandma Gloria, for sharing your family cabin with us. These memories will make us happy, forever. We now dream of having a family cabin of our own someday. Your sweet family cabin, walls covered with beautiful pictures of happy moments through the many years at Island Park, has been so inspiring. We absolutely love it! Just can't thank you enough for sharing it with us.
Just a short walk from the cabin is the beautiful Snake River!
I loved watching Sydee pick wildflowers and put them in her hair!
She seemed to have a handful of flowers all weekend.
Snake River, I love you! Look how gorgeous you are!
Sydee did a little fishing while we waited for the boats to be ready.
Jack thought he wanted to fish too, until he realized it only
made him hungry. Oooops, I forgot to bring food, as always.
But we had JUST eaten lunch!
In Allie's world, nothing should ever take long.
Waiting for the boats was not her favorite.
But while we waited, Sydee caught her first fish!
I couldn't believe she touched it, and held it! But it was
small so we put it back. Rob gave it some water CPR.
Allie. So happy to finally be boarding the boat!
Porter and his great-Grandpa Bob. My kids sort of adopted him
for the weekend. Luckily, he seemed to love kids, so didn't mind
ours climbing on his lap and telling him stories too!
Allie having a moment with Grandpa Bob.
My kids really loved him! Jack has been asking about him since we've been home.
Little Brookie and her Grandpa.
Grandpa teaching his grandson Robbie to fish. How sweet is that?!
A great fisherman Grandpa is too, I observed.
He was pulling fish out every two minutes!
Chad and Rob didn't have such luck, or skill. Hee hee. Just kiddin.
I was happy riding with Allie in Grandpa Bob's boat.
I felt safe, knowing he probably wouldn't tease me and throw
a fish at me! So I got to relax and enjoy being on
the river. I can't believe I wore life-jacket orange, this day
of all days!
Chad told me that Jack begged to go back to the cabin and eat,
the whole time they were fishing! I've GOT to remember to
take food with me everywhere I go!
Jack catching his first fish with the help of Grandpa Bob!
I want to eat it!!!
That's the first thing he said when he saw his fish. Sick!
After all the river fun, enchiladas back at the cabin tasted sooooo good!
The Boys.
Jack loved having boys to play with. All his sister wants to do it pick flowers. There's a cool fort they had good times in, behind the cabin.
The cabin fun made the perfect birthday weekend for Jack! He turned 4 the day we drove back home. I picked up a cake at the Hungry Bear Market nearby, and we stopped at Wheeler Farm to sing and eat cake, where we got harassed by a goose! That post coming soon! :)

Jack's picture with Chad on the boat was so funny I could totally see him whining for food. Sydney is such a girly girl picking her flowers and then she TOUCHES the fish! Lol I bet you were dying.
