After seeing Lassie: one smiley face and two grumpy heads.
I wouldn't buy the dollar skittles on the way out, and we didn't even have candy or popcorn on the way in. I know, essential ingredients for the complete movie experience, especially for kids, and I realize my error. Felt badly the whole way home, especially when I heard myself try to enthusiastically say who wants spaghetti for lunch?! (leftovers). I made my kids sit in a theatre that smelled (and sounded) like popcorn, for two hours.
But in my defense, we went to the Bees baseball game in SLC Wednesday night and ate hot dogs, cotton candy, soda, and popcorn so I didn't want to do it again in one week. Yet still would have indulged them if the popcorn line hadn't been so long when we arrived and the movie starting. Ah, well, next week I'll bake cookies to take the night before, get there early, and definitely get the popcorn!
But oh Lassie. What a great movie! I, for one, totally loved it. The kids, I still can't tell if they hated the movie or just the lack of treats to enjoy it with. Didn't realize moderating the junk in their diet would rob them of their movie enjoyment so much. Kids can be so high-maintenance! :)

See kids, I allowed you cotton-colored poison some days!

I love that picture of them outside the theater! Lassie ah dead dog flick!! Sounds like you guys are already having an amazing summer! I want summer vacation!
How cool that theatre show old classics! I would love to take my kids there. That's funny about the popcorn! Oh, man. Oh well, kids eat so much junk! They will live. Did your kids cry during Lassie?
oh no it wasn't the old Lassie. This one was done, I think, in the 90's and has a happy ending!
oh and I wish they showed classics. This was only "classic" and it was a remake. The rest of the movies coming up are Over the Hedge, Bolt, Madagascar 2...not so classic. It would be MUCH cooler if they did classics.
Oh phew for happy endings!! :)
LOL! Mommie, you're supposed to pack some food with you and then it doesn't matter! But torture! No POPCORN? I can't even watch a movie without it! Gee, Sydie is just an inch ahead of Jack, isn't she? Allie is always happy!
